Financial Development Program (FDP)

The Financial Development Program (FDP) provides aspiring finance and accounting professionals with a range of unique experiences in corporate accounting and finance to help shape them into future business leaders. Over the course of the three-year program, accounting and finance professionals develop their careers through a series of four nine-month rotations designed to challenge them to quickly adapt and add value to each position.

As associates enter the program, each is assigned a peer mentor to help introduce them to Baxter’s corporate culture and the values and goals of the FDP. The cross-functional knowledge and breadth of experience associates gain enable them to pursue numerous career opportunities within Baxter. Through formal training and on-the-job experiences, the FDP is committed to developing associates’ financial, leadership and teamwork skills while exposing them to Baxter’s technologies, product lines and global markets.

Financial Development Internship Program (FDIP)

The Financial Development Internship Program (FDIP) is designed to provide students with an opportunity to explore working in a corporate finance and accounting environment. The FDIP also serves as a key pipeline for Baxter Financial Development Program full-time opportunities. Internships are typically project-based assignments lasting 12-13 weeks (late May to mid- August).

Sophomore Leadership Program (SLP)

Baxter offers sophomores an opportunity to participate in a 2 and a half day program in Deerfield (Baxter Headquarters) where you will be able to learn about opportunities at Baxter International around the many facets of Baxter core business and key functions. The two and a half day workshop will give participants a unique opportunity to network with current FDP’s, FDP Alumni and Leadership within Baxter. A half-day will be spent on a case study where students will have a unique opportunity to work with teammates to resolve a Baxter business scenario.

As associates progress through each rotation, they continue to build and develop their skills, and enhance their overall knowledge of Baxter. Prior to completing the program, associates typically begin planning their transition to a regular, full-time position within the company. As they do so, they have access to a variety of resources to help with the transition, including the FDP program manager, a career development steering committee and past FDP supervisors and alumni.
