BioLife Plasma Services is a leader in the collection of human plasma, which Baxter processes into a variety of life-saving and life-sustaining products and therapies. These include therapies for hemophilia, immune disorders, trauma and other life-threatening conditions. BioLife operates approximately 55 plasma-collection centers in communities across the United States.

Responsibility of Plasma Center Technicians
BioLife plasma center technicians are responsible for performing duties associated with the screening of new and repeat plasma donors, and the collection and processing of plasma donations. This includes venipuncture of donors, operation of autopheresis equipment and monitoring of donors during the plasmapheresis process. Formal training is provided on these and other specific responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent;
- Experience in a laboratory, hospital or other regulated environment, with prior phlebotomy experience preferred;
- Familiarity with plasmapheresis and the importance of donor screening and quality control in the collection of human plasma;
- Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, and ability to maintain complete and accurate records; and
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills.
