There are two categories of information we ask you to provide as part of our online recruitment process: (1) Profile Information, which includes (a) your e-mail address, password, name, mailing address, and phone number(s), your education history, (b) your work history, and (c) your skills; and (d) the location in which you prefer to work, and how you heard about Baxter; (2) Resume Information, which includes whatever information you decide to submit from your current resume.
After you have furnished us with Profile Information, and provided us with your credentials, we also collect any updates or corrections to your information that you may provide, along with any instructions you may provide about retaining your Profile Information for additional periods of time.
Should the information you provide indicate that you are a likely candidate for a particular opening, we may request additional information from you as part of our recruitment process, through interviews, testing, or other means. We may also seek additional information about you from others, such as verifications of education or evaluations from past employers, based upon the information you have provided online.
We log the IP address and domain name you use in connecting to BrassRing, and use cookies, for systems administration purposes only. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer by a Web server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by the Web server that originally placed the cookie.
We do this to track and sustain a user's session, giving Baxter an idea of which parts of our site users are visiting, and allowing you continuity as you move from page to page. We do not link IP addresses, domain names or information contained in cookies to anything personally identifiable. This means that the only personal information we collect from you will be the information you choose to submit to us.
We collect this information from you for only one purpose: to identify interested and qualified candidates to fill job openings at Baxter. Apart from its use within our recruitment function, we make no other use of your information.
The information you provide is used to compare your experience and qualifications with those required for positions with Baxter. Some of this comparison may be carried out by automated means. Since the type and format of the information you provide may have a significant impact upon determinations of your suitability as a candidate, it is in your interest, as well as ours, that you exercise care in describing your education, experience, skills and other qualifications.

Once this position is closed for recruiting we will retain you information for another 365 days. Retaining your information for this time allows us to provide you with information about any related position postings. After 335 days, you will receive an email warning you about the deletion of your information. As long as your credentials remain active in our database, our staffing team will continue to search upon your information as appropriate opportunities arise within Baxter. If a potential match is identified, a member of our team will contact you directly.
If Baxter hires you, the information you provide as an applicant through the BrassRing website will become part of your employment records.
We disclose the information you provide us internally only to recruitment staff, hiring managers, those responsible for overseeing or supporting such personnel, or other staff with a legitimate business need for the information. We disclose your information externally only to (a) agents or contractors acting on our behalf to assist in evaluating and verifying your qualifications, or (b) if required by law or law enforcement agencies to do so.
Upon entering your information into BrassRing your information will be transferred to, and stored on, servers located outside your home country – including the United States and other countries, where data protection laws may not provide for the same level of data protection as those in the European Union. To provide a continuing adequate level of protection for your information transferred from Europe, Baxter has joined the U.S. – EU Safe Harbor Program, committing the company to providing protections agreed upon by the European Union Commission and the US Department of Commerce.
Your information will also be accessible to Baxter staff in other countries with differing levels of legal protection for such information. Only authorized personnel in these countries will have access to your information on a “need-to-know” basis. Wherever your information may be accessed or processed, Baxter has instituted appropriate measures to protect that information, as reflected in the worldwide adoption and implementation of Baxter’s Global Privacy Policy.

We provide you with an opportunity to examine the information you have provided through BrassRing, to challenge its accuracy, and to correct or amend it as appropriate. Access to your information may be obtained by logging into your applicant account. Once logged in through your password, you will be able to edit or amend the information you have provided. If you would like your credentials to become inactive in our database, please contact a member of our Staffing Team, to have your record inactivated.
You may also request access to any additional personal information collected about you as part of our applicant screening process, and such corrections or amendments as you believe appropriate, by contacting our Staffing Team. Baxter will attempt to honor such requests if they do not involve information provided on a confidential basis or impose undue burdens or expenses upon the company. Applicants should be aware that additional personal information may only be obtained if a potential match has been identified between a candidate and a job opening; for most applicants Baxter will have no such additional information.
We reserve the right to change this Policy at any time and in our sole discretion. If we do change the Policy, the new Policy will be posted here, along with its revision date, and all information collected following the posting of such changes will be subject to the new Policy. We want you to know, however, that before we use or disclose your previously collected information in a materially different manner from that to which you agreed, we will first secure your affirmative consent for such use or disclosure.
